Hello friends,
As a summer project i would like to build my first gaming PC. as an engineering student as well as a console gamer (entering into PC gaming) i need a powerful PC that can handle games like BF3, Crysis, etc and also gpu/cpu intensive software like SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabVIEW, etc. The only thing is, i have a pretty limited budget.
Approximate Purchase Date: I heard prices of intel i5 ivy bridge may drop in june 2012? if thats the case, I would be willing to wait until then.
Budget Range: (700-800)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Games, Media, software mentioned above, web surfing
Parts Not Required: i already have a 24" 1080p monitor and logitech z313 speakers
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg, ncix, tigerdirect, any others that are good
Country: USA
Parts Preferences: Im liking the new intel i5 ivy bridge, (if that can even fit in my budget) also i want to have a ssd boot drive along with a 500 GB hdd
Overclocking: Maybe in the future, as i become more knowledgeable in the topic.
SLI or Crossfire: No
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: I am a student at college but I went on the software catalog and it seems there's only discounts for upgrades to win 7 which doesn't help me because I am currently using a mac.
Thanks for helping me out, I would also like to apologize in advance if i ask any dumb questions
