Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. My laptop is an ASUS ROG Strix G513RS with Ryzen 9 6900HX with Raedon Graphis (disabled in Device Manager), 16Gb RAM, RTX 3080 Laptop GPU with 8Gb VRam. 1Tb NVMe SSD. Running with external monitor ASUS XG27UCG @165 Hz connected via USB C to DP of monitor.
This ASUS laptop uses a software called ArmourCrate to manage all the hardware like turbo mode (fan & CPU), display mode, RGB lighting modes.

The problem is that everytime I start up the laptop, 8 times out of 10 it will come up with a blue screen saying something wrong with IRQ... After searching the internet, from other owners of the same family of laptops, it was suggested that the RGB management software was causing the issue. One simple test is to uninstall the RGB lighting software. And it seems to work. That is until the ArmourCrate software was updated to the latest version. This time uninstalling the RGB lighting software did not cure the problem. Worst, the laptop came up with blue screen even when I boot up into the Safemode. So, I proceed to uninstall all ArmourCrate software plus all ASUS software. The system boot up normally and not only that, it boots up noticably faster!!!

My question is that is there any other management software that I can download and use to manage the turbo mode, the speed of fan (laptop internal ones)? I use MSI Afterburner but I have noticed that since I remove the ArmourCrate software, the temperatures of the CPU and GPU are slightly on the high side while gaming. Your help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Umm... why not set the fan curve from BIOS? Put more aggressive profile in place to reduce temps.

CPU control is also done from BIOS.

Outside of the Armoury Crate, none that i know of.

There are individual programs to control selection of it. E.g.
Fans - SpeedFAN (difficult to learn).
RGB - SignalRGB or OpenRGB (may not be compatible with all RGB solutions).
GPU - MSI Afterburner
CPU - Ryzen Master, link: https://www.amd.com/en/products/software/ryzen-master.html

Thank you very much for your response and sorry for not responding promptly. The software I was looking for is called G-Helper. It is an open source software. But I do not have the luxury to try it out as I cannot even install it. Sigh... But thanks again for your response. I found out a bit more about the problems that armoury Crate caused. According to Reddit, the management of LED side seems to be culpit. I have disabled all the services relating to this software that I can see. And now, everytime I try to start up Windows in Safemode, after I log in, soon after blue screen!!! Each time seems to give different "reasons", IRQ not less or equal to, or something about the Knerl (too old, memory not good), or something about the keyboard... sigh... My primary aim is to uninstall the latest NVidia driver using DDU. I have no problem with DDU all these times. In fact, I haven't even managed to start it up as the machine just crashed whenever I boot up to Safemode. Incidentally, I am using the same laptop now as I am typing. It seems to work fine but I know there is something wrong but I cannot pin point it.

In this case, either OS (kernel) corruption or hardware failure.

Format of OS drive and new, clean Win installation would be my 1st step. This gets rid of all software issues (including bloatware and malware, except firmware rootkits).

If machine still acts up, even starting fresh (without Armory Crate installed that is), then i'd look towards hardware issues. Could be faulty CPU, since faulty CPU can spew out different kinds of BSoD. RAM would be another target to investigate (e.g memtest86 with 4 full passes).

IF it is CPU issue, then it essentially means new laptop. Since CPU is BGA (ball grid array), it is soldered to MoBo. Or the very least, new CPU-MoBo combo to replace the CPU out.

Just wanted to report that GHelp does work but only after replacing the motherboard of the laptop and then a fresh new install of Windows. It actually works wonderfully. Kept the laptop when playing Ghost of Tsushima around 85 degree Celcius max. Mind you, that was after a complete clean out of the fans and total re-application of thermal compound to the cooling system of the laptop.
For any users with gaming laptop, you really have to access how dusty your environment is. If you find dust on your desk (black one will easily see the effect) after 3 days. I strongly recommend you to clean the fans of your laptop every month. Or you will end up like me, spending $400 to repair the laptop.
