Hi i am buying a ryzen 7 2700x upgrade package

it includes the following ram " HyperX Predator DDR4 3000MHz 16GB
2x8GB 3000MHz (PC4-24000) DDR4 CL15, XMP, "

from what i read ,anything below the 3200mhz speed cannot be fully utilized the potential of Ryzen 7 2700k.

should i get that package? why would they pick that ram for the package if it will give some set back for the CPU performance? or am i the clueless one? hope you are keen on helping me

Solution
ryzen usually doesn't go up past 3000mhz ram but that ram is fine for the 2700x I couldn't get my corsair vengeance past 3000mhz oc with my 1600, it wont set back your performance its just 3200 is a common speed for fast ddr4 you will just have to do some bios testing to see where your ram speed will hold

thanks man. so 3200mhz will be pointless? because i will be using this new rig for the next 5 -7 years. so i dont mind spending a little more money. but if 3000mhz is more than enough. i will just go with 3000hz.

NO idea what Cdog is referring to.. I have 3200Mhz ram and it works great. I have the G.Skill Flare X DDR4 3200MHz CL14 and it works great for me. IF you got a X470 board some faster stuff will also work if you really want to spend.

you could also try https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232489 if you want RGB ram as that one is noted to work properly at 3466MHZ on X470 boards with the Ryzen 7 2700X CPUs

With that said IF you dont want to spend the extra.. just get the 3000Mhz ram and you should be good to go.

Hello...I am doing the same thing...building a new system. Taken me awhile...have to buy one part at a time..LOL
The benefit of that is I have been able to do some research. From what I've learned..dd4 3200 cas 14 is very good. If it's G.skill the 3200 cas 14 seems to be the one that works best..some folks have had sucess with 3600 cas 16 altho most have only been able to get to 3466..that seems to be the "sweet spot"...however the 3200 G-skill is B-die...it can be pushed higher than 3200..however..I'll leave you with a quote from another article I was reading...just get the 3200 cas 14 pop it in and don't look back!
Hope this helps! ==:)*D

I cant say much because I have a DDR3 system, but my dad bought me Vengence LPX 2x8GB 3000MHz which when I build my system I will probably be Overclocking to 3200MHz. However check your motherboard manual to see its maximum RAM speed so you don't burn out the memory controller.

This is simply bad advice. Reality is that yes the 1X00 series Ryzen had a difficult time with ram. but the 2x00 series of ryzen loves fast ram.

This was terrible advice. The first gen of Ryzen had ram problems. But the 2x00 series (like the 2700x) in question LOVE fast ram.

This is spot on. G.Skill is one of the best for Ryzen because it has samsung b-die memory. 3200mhz kit at 14 latency is the best bang for your buck. Not being able to support higher than 2933 is a thing of the past with early bios versions of b/x 300 series motherboards when they first came out.
