Hello, I need to connect a Peltier Plate running at 12v to my computer PSU for a science project, but I do not know where to start. Should I just connect the red 12v wire from the Peltier Plate into the Molex socket on one of the PSU cables in the yellow 12v terminal and the same thing for the black ground to black ground? If not, what is the proper way to do this? I don't want to get a laptop psu and cut the tip off and solder the wires together. Thanks

Solution
Yes, that would do it.

You could also use a 12V car battery if don't want to risk your power supply. You can also get replacement 12V power supplies at electronics stores that aren't as expensive as laptop supplies (which are generally 20V these days anyway)
