hi, i got low space on my local disk c, so i decided to extend it's partition with my local disk d, i've tried it couple times, and it worked. just a few days ago i bought a 1 TB Toshiba Ext [G] external hard drive, my question is, can i shrink my external hardrive and extend my local disk c with the unallocated space of the shrinked external hardrive? i'd like to shrink 12 gb. and im using EasUS
Partition Master. anyways, i apologize for my bad english

Hey there, EvolusawPe!

It would really help a lot if you could post a screenshot of your Disk Management, because it's going to be a lot easier for us to help you with your issue. Either way, I'd strongly recommend you to do a backup of the data stored on the HDD you want to extend. Tempering with the disk partitions might lead to data loss, so make sure you've got your files copied somewhere else as well.

Keep us posted! :)

I got 1 game on my D:. and also backups. most of my games are on my G: drive. since you said i can't extend my C: volume from an unallocated space of G: Drive, can i create a new partition from my G: ext drive by shrinking only 30 gb volume from it wthout losing the rest of the data? cuz i got so many spaces on my G: drive

Hi again, EvolusawPe!

@i7Baby already mentioned a couple of times that what you wish to do is impossible. You can copy the data (files, docs, music, movies, etc.) from your internal to the external to free up the space, but you cannot combine those partitions neither by shrinking or extending one or the other.
If you want to have more storage space on your internal drive, I'd recommend you to add an additional SATA HDD to your system or replace the one you are currently using.
If your external is a portable model (meaning without an additional AC adapter), I wouldn't recommend using it for gaming as it might significantly decrease the lifespan.

Be careful and have at least two identical copies of your data as a backup!

Good luck!
