These are the current parts I've thought of going with excluding the graphics card because I am saving up for a GTX 780.
So excluding the graphics card my budget is around $500.

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4 GHz Quad-Core

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

ASRock Z77 Pro4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

These are parts I have in mind. I need help on a power supply and your thoughts on what I've picked out.
Thanks!

I do have an OS and I have a cheap optical drive. Sorry for not mentioning that :)

I will not be overclocking and idk. Is there a big difference between the 3570k and 4670k? Does the 4670k cost a little more?

I'll go with the ram and HDD and PSU you picked out. I should have also mentioned I have discount on the Intel CPU I am planning on getting which is why I picked that out. So I would need a motherboard that supports it.

went over but its everything you need for 550

you should also be looking for ddr3 memory with a cas latency (cl) of 8 and a speed of 1600 and the set must be dual channel ie (2x2gbs, 2x4gbs) and the voltage cannot exceed 1.5 voltage as the memory controller is only rated for 1.575v

the 212 htper evo is compatible with almost anything and yes it works with the 1155 socket i chose this motherboard because it is really well recieved and supports sli just in case you want to add another 780 later down the road and i changed the power supply because the xfx core edition is actually one of the better ones you can get and it is cheaper

Looks good 😀. One thing though, is Ncix a reliable site to buy from. I've actually never heard of them and is there a reason why they're components cost less then, lets say, newegg? I mean the same PSU is almost $100 more on newegg, lol.
