First off i built my first computer about 3 years ago and i love it. I'm looking to build my next one but trying to spend a decent amount more. The things I'm interested in are having a cool looking case with some cool lighting that either comes from video card or motherboard. I have roughly about 1200 to spend.

Thank you for your time,

William

Are you interested in building a second whole PC, or upgrading your existing one? If you are upgrading please provide your current rig parts list. We may be able to use some of the parts and make your budget go even farther. 1200 is enough for a REALLY good upgrade if you only need a few parts.

what's is the PC used for ? just gaming ? what rez do you play games at ? 1080 1440P 4 K or want to ?

You could just get a new GPU Say a gtx 970 or AMD R9 390 for 309 to 340 buck and a new CPU for 100 to 140

This should bring your PC up to speed for anything and everything. It also leaves room for you to expand to dual GPU. This is making maximum reuse of what you have and assuming you are happy with some of the parts you have.

This version assumes you would like a little more room on your SSD.

Do you have an objection to using Intel products? I can make the best AMD build if you do. I prefer supporting AMD when possible personally, but I know they aren't the best in the CPU department.

If you are talking about trying to save the motherboard or CPU and just upgrade other parts, your CPU is far too weak to support high end GPUs. You will need to go to a nice AM3+ socket or intel socket for a CPU capable of handling what you want to do.
