Question Need help on motherboard

I have asus p5kpl am-in motherboard and i am currently usingintel pentium d 820 processor which was originally 2.8 ghz but after overclocking its 3.2 ghz but my question is can i install any better processor on my motherboard because i have don't idea which processor will be compatible and can i use any amd processor ? My second question is that is it neccessary to have pciex16 port to install graphic card?

Nope, no AMD. It is an Intel 775 board and HERE is the list of compatible CPUs.

Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPUs are around $40-50 on EBay, and insure that you have an adequate bios update which is listed on the same link.

No, you can use the onboard graphics although they are older and slow so would not be good for games. You can get drivers and a manual HERE.
