Hello! I need help on a problem I have with my GPU. I have a fairly new GTX 650ti which I had RMA'd due to it having a bad display. Bad meaning that when I turn the pc on, it still displays something on thr screen but it shows alot of distorted lines which the closest thing that I would imagine are artifacts. And also alot of the colors are not right.

Long story short the company voided my warranty becsause they concluded that my GPU had some water damage and some corrosion on the board which were not covered by the warranty.

I'm now looking for DIY fix for my problem as all of my searches in this forum about GPU water damage show that their GPUs did not display anything which is not the same case as mine. Like I said, I still get images when I turn on the pc.

Any help on insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You should try washing it with isopropyl alcohol. It has to be 90% or better. Fill a tray with enough to submerge your graphics card, place your graphics card into the alcohol for about 30 seconds. Then brush it off with a toothbrush or paint brush. Let it dry for about 10 minutes. Isopropyl alcohol will get rid of corrosion, but it will not get rid of damage, so if this doesn't work its probably toast. This is a common fix for water damage.
@turkey thanks.

@teq urchin

Well my gpus variant was Palit so I assume thats where they bought it. I bought the GPU from a pc parts store so I gave it back to them and they returned it to the supplier.

I thought that my case would have some kind of solution since it was still somehow functioning 🙁

Hello, I am just wondering if submerging the GPU's worked, as I'm currently having that same issue?
