Need Help on upgrading grahpic card

I have a Radeon HD 7450 and can't stand it anymore, I don't want to spend a lot and also want to make sure it is compatible with my old desktop. I don't mind getting a new power supply, any suggestion,200-300$ range would be preferable.

I need to know what brand and model power supply you have, what processor you have, and if there are any other power hungry devices in your system other than the graphics card and processor.

If all lines up, Alan's suggestion is not a bad one.

you'd be looking for something in the 960(nvidia) or 380(amd) range. those are both in the 180-250 range.
