I now use Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with G41m combo.. RAM installed is 3gb ddr2 553.. i wanted to upgrade my ram to 8gb ddr3.. can i use 2 x ddr3 1600mhz on the mobo? The manual says this

DDR3:
  1. 2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory (Note 1)
  2. Dual channel memory architecture
  3. Support for DDR3 1333(O.C.)/1066/800 MHz memory modules
DDR2:
  1. 2 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory (Note 1)
  2. Dual channel memory architecture
  3. Support for DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 MHz memory modules
(Note: Mixed mode, populating DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules simulta- neously is not supported.

So then now how? I really dont understand this since im have almost zero knowledge abt this.

You can use either DDR3 or DDR2, but not both at the same time. You have a slight oddity of a board that can take either, during a time when CPU's could cope (for technical reasons they can't cope now).

You can use 2x4GB of DDR3, you just need to remove the DDR2.
May i know what type of ddr3 can i use? Can ddr3 1600mhz would do? Do i need to do some adjustment at the BIOS? Or it will automatically down the speed to 1066?
