Question Need help overclocking CPU and RAM

i bought a new cpu motherboard and ram. i cant figure out how to overclock them. i have

Ryzen 2600x

X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING

Team T-Force 16gb 3000mhz


i set my ram to 3000 in the bios but it keeps rebooting a couple times then resets the memory to default.

im trying to overclock my ram, but im not too sure how. my set up is

Gigabyte X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING

team t-force dark 16 gb 3000 mhz

the ram speed shows up as 2400 mhz, every time i set it as 3000 in the bios it restarts my computer a couple times then it resets as default speed.

any ideas?

did you use the ram memory profile or just change the speed in bios?
make and model of the psu?

i tried using XMB and increased it to 30.00.

psu is corsair cx600m

For the CPU there isn't much benefit to manually overclocking. The auto boost features for a 2600X get you pretty close to ideal performance out of the box.

thats what i thought. im still stuck on this RAM though.

what if i increase the voltage? would that change it

just need to enable xmp to profile 1 in bios and leave the other settings alone for the ram to set the correct speed and timings

Is this a new windows install or your old windows install?
New hardware need a new windows install.
