Hey guys,

New to over clocking and I'm looking to get the safest overclock use out of my new PC I built. Specs are:

Cpu Haswel i7 4770k
Mobi msi z87-g45
Hyper cooler master 212 CPU fan/heat sink
His Readon HD 7870 gpu
750watt psu
16g corsair vengeance 1333 -1866OC Ram

Been trying for a while but unable to find a stable OC for this set up. Any help would be great!

have not been able to get it to to a stress test running 44 @ 1.3Vs. As soon as it starts, i get a bsod says hall.dll is causing a problem.. which of course can be anything apparently.

I am uncertain of how many volts to increase as I increase the multiplier. Say for example I try a 4.2ghz test keeping voltes at 1.220, would that be okay?

Are you using fixed, or offset voltage increases? Voltage set to 1.3 should be enough for a 4.4ghz overclock.

4.4ghz might be too much for your heatsink to handle. The hyper 212, while a great budget cooler isn't really well suited for the higher overclocks.

Usually I'd look at perhaps a closed loop cooler if you're looking to achieve higher overclocks. For example on my i5 3570K, I can hit about 4.8GHZ before my system becomes unstable, I could only do about 4.2 with a budget air cooler.
