Need help overclocking

Can anyone walk me through overclocking my cpu and gpu? I would do it myself but i have a really strong feeling I'm going to mess up and affect my whole pc. Everything i have is at stock settings, I haven't changed anything at all.
My specs are-
Intel Core i5 4960k
EVGA SUPERNOVA 750 B1 80 PLUS BRONZE CERTIFIED 750W POWER SUPPLY 135MM FAN
MSI Radeon r9 390 gaming 8G
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB ram
Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB ssd
Asus z97-a/usb 3.1 mobo
Seagate Barracuda 1tb hard drive

No aftermarket CPU cooler so no overclocking it till you get one.
All overclocking is trial and error so I can't really help you on the video card but if you had a decent cooler I could give you some basic settings for the processor.
