Need help part picking pc build

Atm I have a amd processor with 2 cores and 4 logical processors 3.5ghz. Its locked and is basically becoming useless for newer games like bf1 where i get an unplayable fps.
Here are the parts i would like to use from my current pc. (I realize my psu may need to be changed as ive recently learned more about ratings)

Evga 1050 Ti
A 250gb samsung ssd that has my os on it
A 2tb hdd that came with the pc
630w Raidmax Hybrid RX-630SS
and a disk drive, i also have an extra fan inside the pc that can be used in the new build.

Now ive been looking at cpu's like Ryzen 5 1600 or intel alternative. not sure if i want to go up to the Ryzen 7 1700 and intel alternative. the price diffence seems to roughly 100 though. As far as mbo's go im pretty lost.

Ive never oc before but i plan on trying because it seems the 5 1600 will have to be oc'd. Cooling is also an area im lost in. If i do oc what cooling is recommended?
I plan on getting a cheap case one that is quality but isnt too fancy.

What is you max budget? Had this one open and when looking again (i sometimes wander off ) you had a max of $400,still the case since you want some extra's now?

Neither the 1500x or the 1600 NEED overclocking to run stuff like BF1 .
At stock you're looking at 80-100fps which is more than your 1050ti can manage above medium settings.

Both great choices , come with the same big wraith spire - aftermarket cooling is totally unnecessary IMO.

I would plump for the 1600 if you can afford the extra $20 or so - it will pay dividends 2 years down the line.

Wow thanks both for an answer! The 1600 sounds like a winner, what mbo pairs best with it? And as far as price goes 400 is about right for cpu and mbo and ram an case. Is 16 GB ram necessary with newer games?

Games like bf1 already get close to 8gb when playing so yes i would use 16gb's of ram.

If sticking to $400 would the above be what you get for that budget. If you want to try 8gb's of ram and use the 1600 is that of course up to you.Try to look for ram that is around 3000mhz speed.
