Need help pick RAM

Probably a question that gets asked a lot, so I do apologise. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 motherboard, which I believe takes DDR3 Ram, and a Nvidia 670 and a i54690k processor (dont think that other stuff helps). Anyway, I would just like to know what would the best RAM be to go with my system.

Any help would be great

Edit: I am upgrading from 8gb, to 16gb, so I would need two new sticks of RAM

since you are upgrading your ram, you should get some ddr3 ram which has the same speed as your previous 8gb

Depends on your CPU in large part, if a K model and OCing would look to 2x8GB 2400-2666. If a non-K CPU would prob look at the 2x8GB in 2133 max. The Gskill Ripjaws X and Sniper lines are very good, the Trident X line is the best 😉
