Need help picking a new graphics card please help

Hello all :hello:

My 8800GTX has just give up on me :( and now need a new graphics card but i'm not to sure what to go for i been looking at a SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 5770 and a nVidia Geforce 285 GTX i have only really had nvidia cards before never had a ATI card so i'm not sure where to go i play all top games in full HD 1080p Modern Warfare 2, Dirt 2,GTA IV,lots more that i play but i'm looking for a card that will also run Battlefield Bad Company 2 when it comes out in match so can you guys give me some suggestions on what will be the best card i'm looking to pay £150-£180

thanks Maziar what about the Ati Radeon HD 5850 and do you no anythink about the make PNY for the 285 GTX

will this bottleneck the Ati Radeon HD 5850 CPU E5200 2.5GHZ overclocked to 3.33GHZ Ram is 4gb or will this card still be good to get then if i upgrade my CPU at a later date the card will still be up the top

No you will be fine,E5200 @ 3.3 is plenty fast and 4GB RAM is good too,you will be fine

i am now using asus eah 5770, quite good for a low budget graphic card...
if u can effort upto 58xx, then go for it.
ati 5xxx series is a better choice than nvidia if u want the dx11 gaming exp... :ange:
 
The 5770 is capable of delivering Dx11 at adequate frame rates at resolutions of 1680 x 1050 and below in say for example Dirt2. It remains to be seen what it can do with a game that incorporates DX11 to a greater extent than was minimally employed in Dirt2.
 
What I'm hoping for with DX11 titles in the future, is a checkbox for tessellation. It's going to be the largest performance hit of DX11 features. The library itself, performing the same tasks runs faster as you can see in Battleforge.
