Corsair 1050 PSU

TLDR; Looking for a PSU that will stay quiet while gaming or working. Trying to figure out if I need another 1050w or can get away with something smaller. My max budget is 150$ but I'd like to spend less.

I have a corsair 1050 in my build right now and lately, it kept kicking on the fan randomly. I opened it up and sprayed out the dust and that didn't help. What did help was attaching a fan to the exhaust of the PSU, so now the fan only kicks in when I'm playing a game or rendering something but it's still really loud.

it seems that the Yate Loon D14BH-12 140mm fan has failed , my old Corsair TX 750 V2 had the same fan and it failed this year as well
i would reccomend the Corsair RMx 650 , it has considerable headroom and a silent fanless mode , and with your build the fan will rarely spin up even at full load

the AX series are on a different leauge and price point
the evga g3 offer better ripple supression than the rmx although the rmx has legendary ripple suppresion so both are champions in that regard , only gripe with the g3 is that when aris tested its protection , the OPP set point is too high and the psu internal components melted , so in the very rare cases where the psu is overloaded it may damage its internal components

The Only superior model to all that was mentioned here with reasonable price tag would be the corsair RMi series as it has multrail OCP protection
