Case: lian li air

Gamer nexus review (filter problem)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctKKTeaNpb8&t=548s

First off my fan setup will be as follows.
3 120mm rgb fans at the front (intake)
2 120mm fans at the bottom ( intake under GPU)
dual 120mm fans at top of case (exhaust h105 aio)

Do you guys think my fan setup is adequate?

As for the front dust filter. I'm thinking about buying 3 of these silver stone filters to replace the apparently bad stock FRONT filter. What do you guys think?

Solution
A VERY nice looking case.
What will you have inside that you need to cool?

My general recommendation is to concentrate on front intake.
Whatever air comes in will exit somewhere, taking component heat with it.

If the front intake is filtered, your parts will stay cleaner.

A single 120mm exhaust fan should be sufficient, primarily to direct the airflow past the parts.
If you have added fans, they will tend to draw in unfiltered air from adjacent openings.

Unfortunately, a aio cooler is going to cause you a problem with dust.
If you use one, mounted on top as exhaust is probably the best.
Then, I would omit the rear exhaust fan.

One negative about the case is the 155mm limit for an air cooler.
The cryorig H7 120mm unit is probably...

If you need more airflow, increase the rpm of the front intakes.

I would start by using the supplied fans and filters.
I do not know how easy it is to change the stock lian li filter.
I would hope it is washable.
I find I only need to clean my filter perhaps twice a year, and never need to clean the internal parts.
Such is the power of a good positive pressure setup.

there's no option to add a 120 at the rear only an 80mm which is why I've opted to top mount the aio (h105) as you suggested. Heat rises anyway so I don't see a problem with this.

As for changing the filter...it's very simple you just take off the front panel (easy) and then just remove the filter. I also agree with concentrating with the front air flow which is why I only plan on replace the front dust filter and not the rest. If you watch the GN review...the dust filter sucks ^^ and I want my GPU to be cooled as GPU boost 4.0 is quite picky with temps.

So in terms of my fan setup do you think what I'm doing is right?
3 120mm RGB front
2 120mm fans bottom
Aio top

Also are the dust filters I've linked good? I can get 3 of them for £13

Since the case comes with filters, I would try them first.
If you find them to be a problem, then it is easy enough to buy the ones you linked.

My reading says three bottom 120mm fan mounts.
If you use only two of them, unfiltered air will be drawn in from the unused opening.
If you are going to populate the bottom, fill in all of the opening.

Yes you can mount 3 fans at the bottom but all of the bottom has a dust filter. Sadly I can't find the fan model that comes with the lian li air (not the rgb ones), and I don't want 2 fans to be the same and 1 to be different when they'll be on one header.

The bottom fans will be largely hidden. I don't know that it will make a difference whatever they are.
You could simply wait and see how you do with what you get.
You may find that no fans on the bottom are an ok solution.
The fewer fans you use, the quieter your pc will be.
It would not be hard to install fans later.

I'll probably go down that route then :).

If I wanted to add a 3rd fan to the bottom, I do have 2 of these (link below) brand new. If I the add 2 of the 120mm fans with one of the sp120l fan together would they all run at the same rpm?

Yeah, I have a mate than can get me a set of "link below". I'm curious will I run into any problems running the 2 sets of fans linked below in the same fan controller? They have two slightly different rpms which concerns me

Friend can get me these: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian-li-br-rgb-pwm-120mm-fan-with-remote-fan-controller-triple-pack-black-fg-009-ll.html

These are the fans the case comes with : http://www.lian-li.com/bora-lite-120/

What is the controller you have in mind?

The first set goes up to 1900 rpm.
The case ones, I think are 1500 rpm.
Not enough difference to worry about.
If your controller can adjust the speed individually, you can set them low enough to not be obtrusive and high enough to give you the airflow you need.
I do not know much about the rgb controllers.
If you want motherboard speed control, you may not have enough headers and will have to double up on some.

There is a lot of flexibility to do what you want.
You may want to experiment.

Personally, I am not hot for "bling" and I like my fans to be quiet and run at a constant speed.
