Solution
#1 wait till next week to see AMD announcement because they may release 3rd Gen ryzen

#2 primary use for system is?

But here's my suggestion. Budget is quite flexible and I don't see why a 2700 should be ignored in this?

I will say only this. If it's going to be doubling as a workstation doing video editing or something, then I support the decision to go with Ryzen, they're great all-around cpus. But if it's going to be strictly a gaming pc? I'm afraid Intel is the wtg. Whether you get a budget-friendly i5 or a bone crushing i7, you'll definitely get better gaming performance from an Intel rig.

This coming from a long-time AMD fan.

6c6t/4c4t CPUs don't have much left in the tank which is why I'm suggesting the 2600.

1) I've said this too him and he wants the parts now
2) gaming

I was curious about the 2700 too but will that b450 board be good enough for the 2700 VRM wise?
