Alright, well I'm in the market for a new laptop.
That being said, I narrowed it down to only the MacBooks.
Also, no need for flaming, as I am no fan boy and understand for the same money I will have a monster of a laptop but I fell in love with the OS Macs have. Won't be getting it until Yosemite comes out but I am stuck between the 13" Air and the 13" macbook pro
The barebone $999 13" Air with the 128GB flash drive specs:
CPU
1.4GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz
1.7GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz [Add $150.00]
RAM
4GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
8GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM [Add $100.00]
which would finalize the purchase at a max of $1249
I'd Opt in for the extra ram and the i7 for a slight future proof
The barebone $1299 13" Macbook pro (with retina)
CPU
2.4GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz
2.6GHz Dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz (+$100.00 option)
2.8GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz (+$300.00 option)
RAM
4GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
8GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM [Add $100.00]
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM [Add $300.00]
For this I'd just upgrade to the 8GB ram and would total $1399
This would only be used for itunes, email, surfing the web.
Zero gaming or anything graphic intense.
What do you guys think?
