How do I found my security key to connect mobile hot spot from my phone to lap top. Cable is shut off so have my cell phone/mobile hot spot, but lap top wants a security key?

If you are using Android, it should be right there when you turn it on. What phone do you have?

If its a iPhone then you can go into Settings > Personal Hotspot (enable) > Wifi Password. It has one that comes with the phone however if you click on the password you can change it.
