Need Help please

I am currently in the middle of receiving my parts to build my new gaming pc! But , I receive a windows 10 cd instead of usb stick for install. Can i install windows 10 from a external dvd reader, how? and will i be able to unplug and remove the dvd and reader after the instal! Please help and give a extremely detailed answer if possible !!
