Need help please

Hello everyone ive been tearing my hair out trying to work out whether my new components are compatiable with each other and my old ones i have next to basic computer knowledge and am still trying to work out what all the acronyms and specifications mean:-

CPU: Intel core 2 duo E7300
Mobo: Asus P5k SE (thinking of buying an MSi P45 Neo-F instead)
RAM: 4GB of OCZ PC2 8500 1066Mhz (2F10664GK)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS
Sound card: CREATIVE Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio

Will this work?

P35 motherboards have problems with DDR2-1066. Get DDR2-800.
For memory go with memory on the qualified vendor list.

Asus is much better than MSI.
Your CPU is supported since bios version 1008.

Your sound card will work with that motherboard.

You might want to look into a P45 motherboard rather than P35.
You might want to get a 8800 GT or 9800 GT.

I would dump the sound card, use onboard audio, and use the savings to upgrade to a P45 motherboard.

the original build is fine .

Keeping the 1066 memory can give you overclocking options , but Aevm has a point too. Onboard sound is pretty good these days . Id spend money on a better mobo rather than a sound card if the budget was tight

The RAM is fine. +1 to dumping the sound card and upgrading the board.
