Hey, how you guys doing, i am wondering something, and i hope for a good answer, ill even give u good kudos for it, but i just got the intel core i7 3770k cpu, unlocked version. i have the asus sabertooth p67 with a gtx 560 ti galaxy oc version with a gb of gddr5, its an excellent card, but of course the values in the market have gone down a bit, my friend is upset with me for getting that processor but Honestly it was well worth the buy. my main reasoning for doing this move was because i didnt want to get stuck with a 2nd gen core i5 2500 non k cpu. all it did was piss me off. yes it was a dumb move because i could have just gotten an awesome graphics card, like the 670 for the win edition 4 gb superclocked card, but i just said look the cpu is all that matters to me....... would any of you feel the same way? if u knew u didnt have a job and made not much money? the 560 can run most games today, its actually nicer in hi definition than the 580. so heres my question, how do i properly read hw monitor? there are 3 columns, min max and something else, oh value, right now my temps are caping about 80 degrees faranheight and 28 degrees celcius, i just installed new heat sink compound on it and i think thats just fine, the motherboard however, reads a totally different temp, the board itself is about 10 degrees hotter than it is as if it were reading from the desktop temps, have any of you been confused by this before? i cant figure out what the ultimate true temp reading is, i am running currently at 3.8 ghz, i want to push it to 4, but like i said the mobo is about 10 degrees hotter, so im not sure what to go by, the value column, where the temps on each core is nice and cool, or the min or max values? this post is for people that know hw monitor and i7 3770 k temps.... it was well worth the buy over a graphics card i dont need at the moment, i just play wow and star craft and crysis 3 but the 560 can max it as long as vsync is off. would you say i did the right thing? the temps are so confusing and im afraid im going to fry my computer but i could be over dramatic i guess.any help on advice would be nice.

Hi
Did you try using some tools in OS - HWINFO 32 & 64 - http://www.hwinfo.com
- they have sensors only opton - more easy to understand

In adition you may have dust in you system , bad placed heatsink .
You case have system fans - at least 1x front and 1x back ?

About OC - you can have seriouse increase in 3D performance OC the GPU but there is not much room for that .....
You can go for 10 - 20 % f.e.
OC CPU is very efficient but if you bottleneck the system ......
From some levels up there is no much you can get ......

But safer temps are 70 -80 degree celsius - over 90 degree the chips are about to got fail (over 100 )
So if you`r around 28 - 30 it`s normal ..... push the TURBO :)

Well, i just cleaned out my whole case, i got a duster blower and got almost every single inch of it, but they are normal, and when im running at 3.8 ghz, it is idoling at 78 degrees faranheight. so should it be safe for me to push it a little higher, and i appologize for not phrazing my questions right. im a bad typer as i have been frantically trying to get this system to its best potiential, i am tired of always bothering my friend about it. so i decided to get answers from here. you have answered my question, i will try that link. its just weird. the mother board reads the temp on the cpu about ten degrees hotter and when you boot it up its about 20 degrees cooler..... wtf LOL. something just isnt normal but maby it is. who knows. so you would say thats normal im going to run away with what u said. i know i have a great system, better than the average user, i spent too much money on it. im still not done. also do not get the h70, i did and it was so retarded for me to do. or the h100. it only made like a tiny difference and if anything it wasnt consistent on the TDP. would it be safe to just ramp it up to 4 ghz.... thats a 200 mhz difference, im afraid it will make a 40 degree increase lol. i wish i could show you a pic of my setup on my tdp and thermal modules. ive never had to say im afraid of my computer blowing up in my face.
