Need help regarding games with not enough vram

So I have a 500mb vram graphic card and I want to play a game called Astroneer that requires 1gb of vram... I meet all the other requirements but can I play the game with only have the vram?

Impossible to answer without knowing the card. The VRAM only indirectly affects the power of the GPU - it's a bit like asking how powerful a car with a 16-gallon gas tank is. You'll have to identify the specific card for anyone to give any kind of answer. Even then, an early-access game with no benchmarks will be guesswork.
