Specs
Motherboard
I've been unable to find a name for it, but the blue aurora r4 one (see pictures)
PSU
Precision T5500 - Model No. H875EF-00 (875w)
RAM
I think 3x 4gb and 1 8gb (not sure the make, doesn't look like a big brand)
GPU
Nvida GeForce 1070 Founders Edition (8gb)
CPU
Intel core i7-3820
Price Range of £300-£400 (if this is more complicated then I thought)
I have been given an Alienware Aurora R4 Computer purchased in 2014 (and a new GPU last year) - the PSU is dead so I'm considering just taking the plunge and rehousing the parts I have and replacing the PSU with a non-dell one. I've helped build PC's for friends before but the Alienware has some weird parts so I thought I'd consult people before buying anything as I'm not an expert for sure, and I know little about what all the wires are called for the PSU and how flexible it is to change (on the Alienware) . I want to rehouse for additional space in the future, better airflow and so I don't need to worry about the new psu fitting into the Aurora R4 case.
I'm mostly worried about this giant pin that all the wires converge to - if I buy another PCU (non dell) will the wires that come with it be fine in the motherboard?
Here's an album of the PC: https://imgur.com/a/dBRMByy
I was looking at getting:
Corsair CP-9020130-UK TXM Series 850 W TX850M ATX/EPS Semi-Modular 80
and
Corsair CC-9011030-WW Carbide Series Air 540 ATX as the new case
If this isn't possible I'll suck it up and just buy a Dell replacement PSU.
Thanks for any help!
