Hi! I need some expert opinions regarding Intel & AMD.
I'm working as an illustrator, so I mostly use Photoshop and and similar art softwares. My daily activities are revolving around Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI, Corel Draw X7, WMP, Google Chrome, Firefox, Avast Premier... those kind of things. I rarely play games, but I'd like to try heavy games like ToS sometimes (if I get a new computer; games aren't important for me but if it's still playable then it will be fun)

So my brother helped me to list these for my new PC according to my budget, and when I show them to other people they said AMD is cheaper than Intel and I should go for it. So here they are:

MOBO: Asrock H81M-VG4 (Intel H81, Vga, DDR3, PCI-Exp 16x)
PROCESSOR: Core i3 4160 (3.6 Ghz) Cache 3 MB (BOX)
RAM: Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Black PC12800 8GB (2X4GB) - CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9
PSU: Seasonic SS-300SFD 300W - 80 Plus - 2 Years (For Micro / Mini ITX Case)
VGA: Zotac Geforce GT 420 1 GB 128 Bit DDR3
SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 120GB

I would like to know if the two Intels in MOBO & PROC being replaced with AMD since people said it's far cheaper with the same spec, but I have no idea which AMD.

Please, if anyone can help me it will be very helpful. Thanks!

From a performance standpoint, going with an AMD solution would lower your overall system performance.

You could upgrade your current system and achieve a stronger system. Upgrading both your CPU and GPU would help a lot.

First, I would suggest upgrading your GPU. Consider a GTX 750ti. Good performance, uses minimal power.

Then, I would upgrade the CPU to an i5/i7.

Don't downgrade to an AMD based rig. Not knocking AMD, but their current offerings have fallen behind Intel quite a bit in recent years.
