My USB stick just died on me. Whenever I try to plug it in, I will hear the sound Windows makes when something gets connected, but the drive won’t appear anywhere. I know my computer is not the problem, as other sticks are detected just fine, and this drive in particular isn’t detected on my laptop either.
I got the drive detected on disk manager, but it shows no storage on the main page, and 0mb on volume.
What could have caused this? And is there any way to get the information inside back?

First, never have important information in a single location. When a drive fails, you use your backup copy to retrieve it.
Have you tried data recovery software like recuva -- https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva

Thanks for your quick reply! fortunately, it isn't really important information, but there are some hobbier project files that I would like to get back.
no, I haven't tried that yet. I'll do it now, and write another reply telling you if it works.

Tried the software, but it didn't work because I couldn't even find the drive. The same thing happens with file explorer. the USB drive is only detected through Disc manager.
Any other ideas?
