Hello Guys!

i just build my first PC ever, and its going great, i installed everything, drivers, updates etc...

Now i have a MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 8GB DDR5, and a AOC G2460PF Monitor, so i first hooked the RX 480 up with hdmi, worked fine, 1080p resolution and a 60Hz framecap, allright.

Now since this monitor is 144Hz, Freesync supported i wanted to go with DisPlayPort, i hooked the 480 up with my monitor using the Displayport cable that was included with the monitor, its working but here is the problem:

it automaticly made my screen resolution 1140x900 (recomended) and i can change it in the windows menu, but when i change it to 1920x1080 it gives me some weird stuttering screen
(so i changed it back to the recommended 1440x900, its only a 1 monitor setup)

i have allready uninstalled & reinstalled the rx 480 drivers using DDU & reinstalling using AMD Crimson (or well its called AMD settings on my PC)

now this is not the only problem, i also still have my 60Hz framecap instead of 144Hz.
AMD Freesync is enabled inside the AMD Crimson program.
Latest drivers installed
Using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

incase for some reason, you need a full spec list: (just trying to get as much information in here as possible)
CPU: intel i5 7500 (stock cooler)
GPU: MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 8GB DDR5
RAM: Crucial 8GB (2x4) DDR4 2133Mhz
Mobo: GigaByte B250M-DS3H
Case: Sharkoon VG5-W
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue
PSU: Corsair CX450M
really hoping anyone can help me out with this!
thanks in regards 😀

i have the drivers downloaded, how do i install them? do i need to put them on a USB into the monitor or how? because there is no .exe in the drivers i just downloaded

i would allready like to thank you for replying :)

*Update*
crap, i accidently uninstalled the current driver in device manager, now the "monitor" tab is gone in there, how can i get it back?

i have installed the freesync drivers, and the latest AMD drivers for my RX 480

however, my screen resolution still stays 1440x900 and i still cant pick 144Hz...

any idea's on what i can try?

Allright, i have been able to fix it!

Here is what i did:
i uninstalled the current driver monitors, powered it off by the pysical button on it, and back on

then i downloaded the drivers from AOC's website: http://aoc-europe.com/nl/products/g2460pf#support-download

then, i followed this video to install the drivers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GrYpQeTNks&t=1s

Make sure that in windows, the option to install unsigned drivers is possible, if you do not know how, follow this: https://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/

After the driver installment, i unplugged the HDMI cable from my monitor aswell as my RX 480

i then turned my PC off.
restarted it.

still had the problem, UNTILL
i pulled out the DisPlayPort Cable on my RX 480
then i put it back in after 1 minute

and voila, it was fixed, 144Hz Freesync goodness!

i just typed what worked for me incase anyone who also has this problem in the future may find this thread
if that is the case, i hope it also worked for you!

yes, i got it 5 days back.
the stock drivers that came with it (version 1.0.0.0 if i remember correctly)

now it works though 😀
