Need Help Selecting a new Card

I recently purchased Black & White and it will not run on my Gateway G6 450mHz PII computer. I suspect the problem is the video card -> STB Velocity 128 AGP card w/4MB ram. The new game manual says it requires at least 8mb. I went to find a new card and am overwhelmed by the choices. I can stick with AGP - but everything seems to be AGP 2x or 4x. I do not know if this is compatible with my motherboard AGP slot - the new cards look like they have a different pin arrangement than my existing card.

Should I go ahead and buy an AGP 2x and hopefor the best? Does anyone still make an AGP 1x? Would it be better to switch to a PCI card???

Thanks

Your motherboard (c/w a chipset supporting PII-450 @100MHz FSB) must support 1x/2xAGP. Just check the chipset.
4xAGP cards work on 2xAGp.
At least Radeons I know:

Forget about PCI video card unless you want to connect a second card.
