When I open my Device Manager on my Inspiron 17R 5737, I see two items: one is Dell Wireless 1705 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHZ) and a Realtek PCIe Fe Family Controller.
When I click on the Wireless 1705, I get a card. In the General tab of that card, it reads "This device is working properly." If it were working properly, wouldn't I be seeing that radio wave icon in my task pane showing that I have an internet connection? Anyway, that icon is still no where to be found. And the same thing with the connection.
Dell has a "Driver Detect" option, but my only connection for the last ten days has been at local libraries with an XP operating system. So using the driver detection option wasn't feasible. The driver that I did find [http://dell.to/2158557] matches the driver stated in my "Device Manager" except for the fact that the driver's name has an WN32 in it: Network_Driver_40CNF_WN32_10.0.0.287_A03. It has an WN32 description. Mine is a 64-bit. Confusing. Could use help.
Would appreciate some specific help. Thank you.
