Hello guys, I need a bit of help setting up my home network. Ill describe it first. I have an Arris TG852 modem which basicly acts as a cable box, meaning the cable from my ISP comes into it. It has DHCP enabled. The new AP I recently bought is an Asus RT-N12+. I bought it for the purpose of limiting bandwith usage to specific users (QOS). An ethernet cable is connected from one of the ports on the Arris to the blue port of the Asus. The Asus also has DHCP enabled. The third AP, a Tenda A30 is on the lower floor, conected to my Asus via an ehternet cable run through the wall. Im not sure if the Tenda has DHCP enabled, but it would presume it doesnt since there is no option in the Web UI.

Im wondering if all the cables are connected correctly (especially the one from the Arris to the Asus) and if my DHCP is set up properly (im not sure on which one to enable it).

Why am I writing to you? Because the Tenda on the lower floor doesn´t get an internet connection. If I plug it directly into the Asus, it works without a problem. If I connect it to the outlet on my lower floor, it hovewer doesnt work. It does work if I plug it into the Arris, but that defeats the purpose of me buying an AP for QOS. Any help is apreciated!

Solution
If the Asus is configured as a router, then the WAN port is used. It may be available as an extra LAN port when configured as an access point. You will have to test. Different routers behave differently.
The way this should be connected is TG852 -> LAN port on Asus _> LAN port on Tenda
The Asus should have a setting to toggle the mode to access point. That will disable DHCP.
DHCP needs to be disabled on the Tenda.
You want one DHCP server the TG852.

Use a laptop directly connected to the Asus and Tenda. Configure them disconnected from the rest of the network. Then connect them. If you mess up the AP setup, then just factory reset the device and start over.

I tried this already, if I connect a PC to the outlet it is connected, but the yellow triangle appears (no internet connection). Its odd, because this only happens when connecting the cable to the Asus router. If I connect it to directly to the Arris, it works without a problem...
What is the WAN port used for then?
