need help to astro a40 ( 7.1 system )

do i need to buy mixamp with astro a40 to activate 7.1 surround system in PC ????
or it will do 7.1 without(mixamp)?

The Astro A40 models come with an Astro MixAmp unit included but you don't need it for 7.1 surround sound to work (provided your sound card supports 7.1 sound output).

The purpose of the MixAmp is as follows;

"ASTRO MixAmps lets you adjust your game-to-voice balancing, choose from up to 4 different EQ modes (2013 ed. only) made for gaming/media, and link multiple MixAmps together for a lag-free private voice network"
