Need help to find the right case

Hey there

I am looking for Full tower under 22" high or mid tower case. Budget is under $200, but would spend more if I find perfect case.

I will not be using any water cooling.

I must have classic SSD and HDD storage space- the more the better.

I would like it to have RGB lighting or at least glowing led fans on the front.

Have you seen any cases with USB 3.1 on the front?

I would like to have large window on the side. Does not have to be all tempered glass, but I like to look inside the case.

I like this Roswell case inside- it has many SSD/HDD spaces, but no led fans in front, small window and it is 22.83 tall, which is too tall for my desk. Kind of. I can feet up to 23, but it would be pushing it.

I like the look of new Thermaltake View 31 TG http://www.thermaltake.com/content.aspx?id=7090 but I don't see it having any space for DVD drive- the front panel is solid- do they say- nobody used DVD drive now days? And all space taken by water cooling- where are the spaces for SSD- HDD?

I am considering Coolmaster Mastercase 5
http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/mastercase-maker-5t/

But again- I don't see any space for SSDs/HDDs- looks like you have to buy them separate?
Thank you for your help.

How about Corsair Obsidian 750D? It's 22.0472 inches tall full-tower and costs $130.
specs: http://www.corsair.com/en/obsidian-series-750d-airflow-edition-full-tower-atx-case

It has plenty of drive bays and a nice big window.
Sadly, it doesn't come with LED fans but changing the fans to LED ones is the easiest thing to do in PC building.

For RGB LED fans, you can go with NZXT Aer 140mm fans, $30 a piece.
When you'll add the NZXT HUE+ to your build at some point, you can sync your Aer fans with HUE+ LEDs.

I like your idea, thanks for posting. It is strange that it has SSDs in vertical position- it really takes a lot of space. I may need more slots than 3 SSDs and 3 HDD. I have 3 HDD drives coming from current build in to the new and possibly few SSDs from old build plus several new SSDs. All to store samples (sounds) libraries and software synthesizers.

These are my winners so far, also I am not so sure. Both of them have no visible front fans.

Be Quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 http://www.bequiet.com/en/case/699
It has wireless charging station, many spaces for drives and marketed as being quiet. (needed for audio recordings). AND it just went on sale at 30$ off. It was $250 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V45G2217&cm_re=Dark_Base_900-_-9SIA68V45G2217-_-Product

The other one I was looking at is MasterCase Maker 5t https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119320&cm_re=MasterCase_Maker_5t-_-11-119-320-_-Product

I am thinking- I will go on and order the Be Quiet.

Thank you for the help!

You're welcome.

Btw, Corsair 750D has 3x 5.25" external drive bays (that can be converted to 3x 3.5" or 6x 2.5" drive bays using an adapter), 4x 2.5" drive bays and 6x 2.5"/3.5" drive bays.

The Be Quiet case's silence is a marketing trick. The silence of the build doesn't depend on the case you use but instead of the case fans you use.
If you put an epic fan (like this) into the Dark Base Pro 900 then you can be sure that the PC won't be silent, regardless of what Be Quiet site states.

Thank you for your reply. It was getting late last night, like 4 in the morning late- I had to make decision. lol. The Be Quiet claims that their fans are quiet with robber lining, but then again- I heard it before. The problem with that case is that it 23.003" tall, and my desk is literally 23.4" toll before keyboard shelf, so I am concerned. Other than that... I like Orange. lol.
I still did not order a motherboard. Darn thing keeps confusing me. Look in one comparison table and it says Hero has no WiFi but is Thunderbolt 3 ready (needs some card). Look in another source- it says Formula and Code have WiFi and Thunderbolt ready.
This one says Hero has no thunderbolt but Formula and Code have:
https://www.asus.com/us/Product-Compare/?products=6RfMI11oThscuMX4,KKuAp9d2jGnDWqzC,L9K3M9tLB8Pgdvkx&b=0

This one shows Hero has Thunderbolt: https://www.asus.com/microsite/best-200-series-motherboards/compare/index.html

What ya think?

I think it's best to look the MoBo's spec page.
link: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-HERO/specifications/

According to the specs, Hero does have 1x thunderbolt internal header but it doesn't have built-in wi-fi.

Code and Formula both have the exact same back I/O connectors and internal connectors while having built-in wi-fi too.
Code: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-CODE/specifications/
Formula: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-FORMULA/specifications/

All three MoBos do have USB type-C connector on back I/O that can be used for thunderbolt 3. But for thunderbolt 3 to work on USB type-C, a thunderbolt controller chip must be present on MoBo.
