Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I'm looking to hopefully make a value for money Gaming rig. However, I am a bit of a noob in these matters as I've done most of my gaming on Consoles.

Anyways, I have a budget of £850 - do you think that this is enough for a decent rig? A rig that will be good enough to run the next big gaming titles coming this fall - such as Skyrm, Rage, Deus ex HR and Witcher 2 (already out)

Ideally I'd like it so that this rig could potentially run the above games on Ultra settings. I know its probably pushing it with the above budget but thats why I'm asking to make sure.

Any help and advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance

:)

Ok, so here is some specs I came up with that is a bit over budget

Potential Rig:

Processor - Intel Sandybridge i7-2600K Unlocked Core i7 Quad-Core Processor (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache, Socket 1155) £237

Mother board - ASUS 1155 P8P67 PRO REV 3.0 S/L £125

Graphics card - MSI R6870 Twin Frozr II - Graphics adapter - Radeon HD 6870 - PCI Express 2.1 x16 - 1 GB GDDR5 - DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort ( HDCP ) £204

RAM - Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory - £49.50

Power Supply - Corsair CMPSU-750TXV2UK Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 High Performance 750W Power Supply £87

HD - Western Digital Caviar 2TB SATAII 64MB Cache 3.5-inch Green Internal Hard Drive OEM £57

SSD - Kingston SSD V100 64GB SATA2 2.5inch Hard Drive £70

Case- Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus - Mid tower - ATX - no power supply £60

I already have a viewsonic 22in tv monitor.

Do you guys think that this is a decent build to run all upcoming games on a very commendable level?

Please please do give your thoughts, opinions and positive criticisms . Do I have a suitable motherboard? processor relevant for my needs?

Do I need extra cooling or anything of the sort?

btw, I don't know much about overclocking however, after reading some posts and looking around the site, it is something that I would be interested in doing.

Big Thanks in advance!

:)

P.S all the above is from Amazon.co.uk

Right, I have a few questions

1, is it possible to use a lower PSU for the above build, say 650W?

2, Is it worth investing in the I7-2600k processor as opposed to the I5-2600k? Would a I5-2600k be good enough for upcoming gaming on highest specs?

how about AMD processors?

3, I really need help on the motherboard, I'm thinking about changing it to
Gigabyte SKT-1366 GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard

4, any other input...
