Hello, going to keep this short and sweet.

My computer has suddenly begun black screening when loading up any game. The monitor would go black and does not detect any video output from my computer.
I'm forced to restart the computer to have any sort of display, restarting the driver via Win + Ctrl + Shift + B is futile.

Additional context:
  • No noticeable symptoms have existed prior such as artifcating, crashes, etc
  • No modifications have been made to the PCs components
  • I've just updated the GPU driver and the issue still persists
Any advice on identifying the issue would be greatly appreciated!!

PC Specs:
  • I9-9900k
  • RTX 3080TI
  • 32GB Ram
  • Corsair SF 750W PSU

Do you have another GPU you can try, either plug-in or onboard?
Planning on going to a repair shop just for this purpose:

I can hear the computer still running after the display goes out such as the music playing - hoping it's a faulty pcie cable or something but a person suggested it might be vram related

Below are the GPU's metrics right before crashing

How are temperatures ?
The crash occurs so quickly that the temps don't get a chance to really increase. The VRAM temps were around 58C though, the 3D benchmark stays is around 45C before the crash.

Hey there,

Could be your PSU. How old is it?

The PSU recommendations for the 3080ti are 750w min. You also need to factor in transient power spikes when the GPU switches frequency and load type. Sometimes the power spikes cause issues and shutdowns, or crashes.
Corsair SF750
For context, I've had this build for 2 years now and haven't had any issues till now.
Any way to confirm if it's PSU related issue? I've stressed test the CPU and GPU's VRAM which ran without any errors/crashes.
It's the 3D benchmarks that cause an immediate crash
