My pc is a few years old now and I want to upgrade my graphic card to a GTX 1060 3gb (maybe 6gb).

I suspect I better upgrade my mobo too? Is my 3570 (non-5 version) still viable or should I also replace this?

By the way, my PSU is XFX 550W and I got 16GB ram installed.

Ty for responses (PS: English is not my main language so I'm sorry for written mistakes)

Solution
it will be absolutely fine if you just upgrade your graphics card for now .
amd will release some new processors in a near future so
you can monitor the situation for the time being ,
save some more cash and upgrade the rest of the system later on .
availability and prices are the big issue these days .
not a good time for upgrading your graphics card .
i would not buy 3gb edition (not really worth it unless you can make some really sweet deal)
your processor will bottleneck gtx 1060 to a certain degree (but not too much) .

my advice if you really want to upgrade would be to buy used gtx 980
(its performance is on par with gtx 1060 6gb and you can get it for much lower price)

Well, I'm from Belgium and used cards are not really things you can find easy here

So better go for a 6GB one then. And what do you think of the motherboard?

Well, I told your response and my husband said to me: just upgrade the cpu, motherboard and card all together and be a bit more up to date.

So.. suggestions? (not top of the class please, affordable prices)

can you give me at least some rough estimation about your budget ?
but off the top of my head :
middle class options would be :
amd ryzen 1600 / 1600x + decent AM4 B350 motherboard + 2x8gb ddr4 memory (at least 3000MHz cl16/cl15)
or intel i5 8400 / 8600K + Z370 motherboard + 2x8gb ddr4 memory plus gtx 1060 6gb / gtx 1070

something like this would be a decent mid-tier build:

if you have some decent spare parts from your old pc
(like hard drives , case , power supply) you can save some money .

Well, i was hoping to reuse my DDR3 I bought a half year ago , but apparantely the newer types of mobo use only DD4 - I did not know that.
My ssd's, cooler,, case and psu are still ok.

I was hoping to get it done for 600 pound tbh - and the parts you picked go up to about 735.
Perhaps I should just keep the current setup but only upgrade to a 1060 and do the rest in 6-12 months?
