Gday all,
I first built my computer back in 2011 and its now starting to crap itself. I'm having graphics card issues and overall I just need a more reliable system for work and games. I have not kept up with all the current stats on all the cards and motherboards lately and I have no idea whats good and what isn't these days. At this stage I'm just looking at upgrading the graphics card and maybe installing a little more RAM. Would this be okay or am I still going to get bottle necked by my motherboard (if even possible?) For the upgrades I am currently thinking Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming, 8GB and bumping my RAM form 12gb to 16gb or 24gb. If you have any recommendations for me please let me know. My current system specs are as follows:

*CPU Intel Core i7 970 (3.20Ghz/12MB/ 4.8GT QPI/ 6 Core)
*Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R</b>, Intel X58 Chipset, QPI 6.4GT/s, DDR3 x3
*Graphics Gigabyte Radeon HD6970 OverClocked (900Mhz), 2GB GDDR5 (5500Mhz)
*RAM Kingston 12GB Kit (3x4GB), PC3-10600 (1333MHz) DDR3, Triple Channel
*Memory OCZ ARC 100 240GB SSD and 2TB HDD
*Power Supply Antec 750W TruePower PSU, 120mm fan, 2x PCI-E Graphics Card, 4x SATA Connectors
*Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Installed on SSD
*Case Fractal Design Define R3, Titanium Case,

Thank you very much in advance for your help!
