Hello guys I'm looking forward to upgrading my build, especially the CPU, however, I'm not sure which one should I pick. This is my current build.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL15 Memory
Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB STRIX GAMING Video Card
Case: NZXT H500i ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CXM 850 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit

The main reason i want to upgrade is that i feel that I'm not getting the FSP i should get with this build and this GPU. For example, i play GTA Five M at around 50fps and CSGO at 170FPS. I also want to start learning game development and I think i will need a better CPU to work with Unity.

It's the Ryzen 5 5600X a good upgrade? Will I need a cooler? I'm currently using the cooler that comes with the 2600x.

Is this PSU overkill? I think it's very noisy, should I change it?

My budget it's around 400-450 €

Thank you very much!

Solution
From my reading, games and Unity depend most on single thread performance.
For that, a 5600X with a good ips increase would be a good upgrade.

To see just how sensitive your work and games are to the processor, here are a couple of tests to try:

a) Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

b) Limit your cpu, either by reducing the OC, or, in windows power management, limit the maximum cpu% to something like 80%.
Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power...
No reason to change or upgrade the powersupply.
It's an okay unit, with lots of wattage.
I wouldn't actually use it for any system that needs 850watts, but for up to 600~ watts it's okay.

as for cpu upgrade, a 5600X will be great for single core, but it still has 6 cores.
If all you do is gaming, It's probably a very good upgrade. I'm unsure of unity, but if it requires more cores, you might want to spring for a higher end 5800X or 5900X.
But it might not, so check before you buy anything.

You won't need a new motherboard, and really, the system is quite solid.
I'd just change the cpu to whatever you need.

The ram is 3000mhz,which isnt really good for a ryzen 5000 cpu.
BUT i personally wouldnt bother changing it,not worth 100$ for 5-10 fps increase.
The 5600X has 30W less tdp (65W) than 2600X (95W) so absolutely no reason to change the PSU.
I would get a aftermarket cooler for a 5600X,it runs hotter out of the box and the stock cooler is the bare minimum to keep the temps in check.
The mobo is going to need a BIOS update for it,so update the bios now before you either sell or get rid of your 2600X.
What cpu cooler do you want?
Air or AIO?

What RAM should i get then? 3200mhz or 3600? Is it important to upgrade the ram, will it bottleneck the 5600x with the 3000mhz?

I think Air will be enough for now. Do you have any suggestions?

I wouldnt buy better ram.
What you have is solid for now.
I mean if you want 5-10 fps more go for it but i would just overclock your ram and see what i get first.
Is the noctua nh-d15 to big for your case?

Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power settings/processor power management/maximum processor state/
This will simulate what a lack of cpu power will do.
Conversely what a 20% improvement in core speed might do.

c) Experiment with removing one or more cores/threads. You can do this in the windows msconfig boot advanced options option.
You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. Set the number of threads to less than you have.
This will tell you how sensitive your games are to the benefits of many threads.
If you see little difference, your game does not need all the threads you have.
