Hey guys,

New to the site, wondering if anyone can help me.
Got a rig, that doesnt perform aswell as I would like it to do, hoping that you guys can give me some tips here. As far as I see, I should upgrade my CPU and maybe cooling? Anyways, tips and pointers much appreciated, thanks :)

Id like to play most new games on ultra, with no lag and high fps, I know thats reaching abit with my cpu and all, but any pointers in the right direction will be much appreciated :)

Solution
I will discuss every part and it's performance:

1. Processor

you have a core i3 6100 3.7GHz Skylake processor it's almost equivalent to a pentium g4560 in gaming but it's a pretty nice processor and it can handle almost every game on high settings with a decent GPU. you should upgrade it if you want VR Ready PC and high FPS in Ultra settings. But first you will need a high-end GPU for this. so first buy a good GPU and then you should consider upgrading the Processor. as your motherboard is a skylake motherboard you may need to update bios to install intel's 7'th generation kabylake CPU's. your motherboard can support overclocking so if you want to increase the performance without spending a lot of money then consider buying a K...
I would recommend the Core I5-6600K. Around $200, 3.5GHz (turbos to 3.9GHz), over clock capability, it is a quad core, and same socket as your current CPU.

If you want to go for broke, I7-7700K. Around $350, 4.2GHz (turbos to 4.5GHz), over clock capability, is a quad with hyper threading, and same socket.

Thank you very much! Anything else? Ram and electric is good?

And any recommendations for cooling?

16GB of RAM is actually pretty powerful. If you really want to, you could go looking for a 32GB kit (4X8GB sticks). That would help if you plan on streaming your games, say on Twitch. Also, if you are planning on streaming videos while gaming, then I would really consider the I7-7700K CPU. More cores equates to better multi-tasking performance. As far as cooling goes, I'm part in partial to the NZXT Kraken X series. Just a personal preference though. I'm sure others will tell you that they prefer different ones. Both CoolerMaster and Corsair make liquid cooling CPU coolers as well. It looks like the Corsair H100i has received far more reviews than any of the others, but runs a little loud compared to some of the competition. If you want to do any kind of overclocking, then liquid cooling is the way to go. As far as the PSU goes, that should be just enough beast to run even the RX570 (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3401032/psu-570.html). An EVGA Supernova 650 might peak your interest though. It's fully modular and 80+Platinum certified. Not sure about EU conversion though... Might be worth a look.

2. Graphics Card

This GPU is not even a Mid-range GPU, as of may 2017, it's is an entry level GPU when compared to the Nvidia's Pascal series or radeon's 4 series. so i recommend you to buy a new GPU because it will make a huge difference. the Core i3 is able to support a mid-range GPU. so if you want to upgrade i would suggest you to go for a GTX 1050Ti for high settings 60+ minimum FPS in games like GTA V, Battlefield 1 or Hitman 3. or if you want to move further get a GTX 1060 6GB, but to utilize GTX 1060's full power you will need to upgrade the processor and after upgrading to a 6'th gen or 7'th gen core i5.i7, it will be able to run these games on ultra with a minimum of 60 FPS.

Memory:

you have a HyperX fury which runs on a clock speed of 2133MHz, which is the minimum clock speed supported by your Mobo. it means that upgrading to a higher-end ram will provide you more speed and faster memory operations or in simple words it will boost the speed of your PC. your mobo can support:
3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3100(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133 MHz Ram modules and it can overclock the ram modules. if you want to upgrade your ram then i would recommend you the TEAM GROUP NIGHT HAWK DDR4 16GB Ram. now, the capacity is same as your currently installed ram but trust me 8gb is the recommended size of ram and there is no reason to go beyond 16gb unless you want to spend a lot of money. if you want to future proof then just get 2 DIMM sticks so you will have 2 extra DIMM slots free if you ever want to upgrade in future. but as the clock speed is higher it will boost your PC. you will not feel the need to upgrade the ram.

Motherboard:

why you should upgrade it? the Z170 gaming pro mobo from Asus is one of the best motherboards for gaming ever made. it has all the features and upgrading options that will keep your PC up-to date for next 1-2 years. as you already have a skylake processor installed then you can use 7'th gen cpu's by updating your bios. you can crossfire, use SLI and overclock your CPU. so i don't recommend you to upgrade the board for 1 year or so...

PSU:

this is the thing that you must upgrade before upgrading to any higher-end components. and by higher-end i mean the gtx 1070 or the core i7 7700k. but if you want to go less than that then it would be good but not if you want to overclock you CPU. before overclocking please consider buying a much good psu. Read PSU Tier List 2.0 for more information.

you did not told me your budget so i cannot figure out the best parts for you but here all the parts i have suggested are compatible with your config and they are value for money products.

thanks for reading my answer! hope you found it useful (sorry for my bad english)

Solution
If you want "Ultra settings with good FPS and no lag" you are going to need to up that Graphics card and CPU. RAM to 16GB would also be helpful for some newer modern games but ultimatley not as important as the GPU or CPU, with 8GB you'll be able to run High/Ultra fine in most modern games, just a few CPU intensive that can benefit from having more than 8GB but i wouldn't say you NEED to at this point.

For the Graphics card, if you are intending to achieve 60+ FPS in 1080p High-Ultra settings you will be looking at around a RX 580 8GB (my recommendation due to it's slight edge over the 1060) or the GTX 1060 6GB (Note 6GB not the cut down 3GB). These cards should achieve Ultra settings in most games, maybe some with a mix of High/Ultra and slightly reduced AA but good settings none the less. A GTX 1070 would be what you are looking at for Ultra/Max settings in most games at 1080p but ultimately might not be necessary unless you plan to up the monitor soon. If budget is tight, don't get anything less than an RX 570. Anything weaker will not achieve High or greater settings in most modern games and wouldn't be a worth while investment over your current RX 460. Although i would need to check if your current Power Supply would handle a GTX 1070. I personally wouldn't without an upgrade, the decent 500w you already have will be enough for the aforementioned cards though.

For the CPU, your Motherboard is already high-end (interesting that it's paired with a CPU cheaper than it and locked at that). But anyway, if you update the BIOS on your Motherboard to the latest, you can support the most recent 7th Gen i5's. These would be a great pairing with a new GPU and great choice for Gaming. I would suggest you look into rather a i5-7500 (if not Overclocking) and i5-7600K (if Overclocking is on your mind). If you have the budget, an i7-7700/7700K can give good performance jumps in some games but if not, the i5 and a stronger GPU is the better choice.

I'd say the GPU is the biggest letdown here for Gaming performance, but it depends what you primarily play. If you have any questions or even a budget feel free to ask. Hope this helps :)

i'd suggest if someone starts stepping up to 1070 and i5 or i7 it might be a good idea to buy a decent monitor ? screen tearing is annoying haha.

Depends but so far need details about current budget, monitor and typical games haha.
