Need Help Upgrading SSD

I have a laptop with a 128gb M.2 SSD and 1tb hdd, and I want to replace the SSD with a 256gb M.2 SSD I have laying around. My OS is on the 128gb SSD, and I cant figure out how to replace it with the bigger SSD without losing everything. Could anyone give me some tips on how to replace the SSD and keep all my stuff?

Move what you wanna keep,to the hdd then back after new Windows install

Make an image of the 128 on the 1TB, swap the 128 with the 256, use the software to re-install from the image.
