Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of upgrading my Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tower, which currently has a 500W power supply and an NVIDIA T400 4GB GPU. I recently bought a used NVIDIA RTX A4000 16GB GPU and a new 750W power supply, but I haven't installed either of them yet. I'd appreciate some advice on how to proceed with this upgrade.

I recently bought a used NVIDIA RTX A4000 16GB GPU and a new 750W power supply, but I haven't installed either of them yet. I'd appreciate some advice on how to proceed with this upgrade.
Here are my current specs:
- Model: Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tower
- Current Power Supply: 500W
- New Power Supply: 750W (not yet installed)
- Current GPU: NVIDIA T400 4GB
- New (Used) GPU: NVIDIA RTX A4000 16GB
- Verifying the Used GPU: What’s the best way to check the used RTX A4000 for functionality before installing it? Are there any recommended tools or tests I can run once I install it?
- Power Supply Installation: What steps should I follow to swap out the 500W PSU for the 750W one, and do I need to consider any specific compatibility issues with the ThinkStation P3 Tower?
- Upgrading to the RTX A4000: After installing the new PSU, what should I be aware of when installing the RTX A4000? Should I adjust any BIOS settings or update drivers beforehand?
- General Tips: Are there any potential pitfalls during the upgrade process that I should be aware of, like cable management or cooling considerations for the GPU?
