need help upgrading to windows 10

I have only 16gb of free space left in my windows hard drive whose actual size is around 50gb....im currently using windows 8.1 pro 64 bits.....so will i be able to upgrade to windows 10 using windows updates???

If you have a legit copy of Windows 8.1 Pro, then yes, you can "upgrade". Upgrading will simply overwrite your current Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. After you have upgraded successfully to Windows 10 Pro and confirmed the activation worked properly, then you can download a Windows 10 Pro ISO and do a clean install if you wish.

The download is no where near 20GB, in fact, it's less than 4GB. If he's updating through Windows update, it will simply update over his existing 8.1 Pro version.

Yes. Update to Windows 10 Pro through windows update.

Yes, Windows 10 will have the Start button. Google Windows 10 Start button for more info.

You will be asked if you want to keep your existing files or not during the upgrade. Click yes, of course.

Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend backing up any important files before upgrading. Maybe burn them to a disk or upload them to a cloud service, if possible.
