Hi!

I'm looking to hook up my printer to my router using WPS. I know what to do for the most part... hit the WPS button on the router and wait for it to blink. Then hold the WPS button on the printer. However, when i push the WPS button on the router, nothing happens. It doesn't blink, go on, or anything. I tried holding it down, resetting the router, turn the router on and off...

It's getting on my nerves because I've seen the light blink before when you hit the WPS button. The light's not dead or broken because when the router goes back on, the light works.

Any help is appreciated

Verify that the WPS feature is not disabled in the router. It is strongly recommended that WPS always be disabled except when you are setting up a device because it can be easily hacked.

Otherwise hopefully the printer can be setup via a menu somehow. You should be able to put in your SSID and your WPA password and it should connect.

How do I enver my SSID and WPA password? There is a computer that is directly connected to the printer using a USB cable. I just want to connect the printer to 1 desktop and 2 laptops.

Pretty much look the manual for the printer up online and see how to do it. There is not standard for how printers are setup. Since it is USB connected that likley means there is a way to manage the printer with your computer but again the manual for the printer will tell how to do it.

I have no clue where the manual is. I bought it 2 years ago.
I just want the WPS button fixed. No matter how hard I press it, it never blinks! I don't think anybody would hack my house... if anything, they'll hack the computer of the guy with the ferrari

Any ideas of why the WPS isn't working?!?!

thanks for all your help :)
I don't think it's a hardware problem. Where do I find the router setings?

Sometimes I am not sure why I bother on this forum.

How would I know all routers are a little different. Even if you had posted the router model I would have to go look the online manual up and then try to describe what the screen looks like to you.

Either you just go though the screens until you find a option to enable or disable WPS or you look it up in the manual. Every manufacture has their manuals online and as simple as searching for the router model and the word manual.

Probably at 192.168.1.1
Enter in the username and password. If you've never changed them (and you should have), look up the router model for the default username and password.
Something like "admin" & "password"
