[SOLVED] Need help w/upgrading PC gaming rig?

Hi....I am wondering if I am in need of an upgrade. Play games like Pubg/The Division/BFV. Looking to be ready to play games like The Division 2 and other games at 1440p 144hz or maybe 4k gaming.

My current build is....

Acer 1440p 144hz monitor
4770k oc'd 4.2mhz
Asus Maximus VI Hero
2- Zotac Amp extreme 980 ti's sli
Corsair 16gb 1866mhz
850 EVO 250gb SSD
840 EVO 250gb SSD
corsair 1200w PSU
NZXT Kraken x61

Tough call. I'd say it depends on how the games run in SLI. Theoretically, your GTX 980 Ti in SLI should be close to a single GTX 1080 Ti. I think your system is pretty up to par for general 1440p gaming. You can gain some performance with CPU and GPU ugprades, but it's not exactly necessary.

Will it run yes. 60 FPS 1440p Ultra settings I'd say no. A 980 Is not even the greatest card for VR in 1080p alone. Also a 4th Gen Intel i7 quad core CPU your going to perhaps even bottleneck. I would at least look into upgrading the motherboard, Ram. CPU, and Perhaps GPU. This would be a pretty expensive build back in the day, So if you where going to do some upgrading what would your budget be?

I have about $2500 to $2800 to spend. I have these so far, Case ThermalTake 71, 1200w psu, 1 tb SSD and Corsair H150i cpu cooler. I have been looking around at purchasing new Mobo, Ram, Cpu and Gpu for this build.

I am looking to run AAA games (lol- AAA games....lol) at min 60 frames and of course higher.

With that budget, if you’re not getting the frames you want, the easy button is a 9900k, $230 Z390 mobo, a 2080ti, and 2x8gb 3200 ddr4.

No Problem, but are you going AMD or Intel? if Intel I'd go maybe a z390 motherboard an i9 9900K, and Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz DDR4 Ram, and instead of air cooling option go with liquid cooling.

AMD is hard to call my pc is inferior for that kind of money so maybe something like a Ryzen 7 2800x,, Dual AMD RX Vega 64s, x470 motherboard, any AMD compatible 3200 MHz DDR4 ram, and again liquid instead of air cooling. This kind of build will run cheaper then the last one by at least 500 dollars. Both of these builds would slay 60 FPS lols. Maybe even in 4K

Last but not least DO NOT TRY TO RUN THESE GAMES IN 1440P WITH THIS KIND OF TECH WITHOUT AT LEAST A 144Hz 1440P MONITOR!!! You will start what we call ghosting and that will drop your FPS and we don't want that.
