Hey Everyone,

Below are the specs of the build. I think its time for some new hardware. Until recently I could play most games on High or ultra. Now I can tell that this setup is either not working properly or just out of date. I can't play bf1 even on low setttings it just lags constantly especially on bigger maps. I spent 60 bucks on Ark and it is completely unplayable. I posted about BF1 awhile back and overclocking was suggested. I bought a coolermaster and overclocking helped but it's still a shitty gaming experience. My budget is about 150-200. Eventually I will upgrade everything, but for now I need to do one piece at a time.
Question is what would you upgrade first? CPU, GPU, RAM, Mobo? I think my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU so I was thinking that would be the best start. Any recommendations in my price range are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!

2gb powercolor 7850 gpu 150$
fx6300 cpu 109$
Coolermaster CPU fan
Rosewill challenger case 46$
Diablotek 600watt psu 30$
Asus m5a97le mobo 90$
Kingston hyperx blu 8gigs 70$
Wd blue 1tb hdd 60$

Really not very much, maybe 5-10 frames. Really not worth the money when that extra 100 could be put towards a better graphics card. And for a closer price you could look at the ryzen 5 1600, it has 2 more cores than an i5 and I would choose it over any i5 in a heartbeat.
Thanks Sky Net. I'm not expecting ultra here. I just want to be able to enjoy the games. You don't think something like an fx8370 would allow me to play? I was thinking CPU now and the a gtx1050ti in the fall. If I need to buy a whole new rig this will be the end of pc gaming for me. 600-1000 dollars every 3 -4 years seems hardly worth it. In my budget I'd be Better off going back to console.

Considering your budget I'd look on Newegg or eBay for refurbished/used i5 or i7 with a compatible mobo that supports ddr3. I think you can get an LGA 1155 i5 and mobo for that sort of price on Newegg and it could still use your ram.

That's also a good option - going for previous generation tech. It would save ~ $100 for new DDR4 ram.
You could build a hasswell system:
i5-4570 cpu,
b85 motherboard.

Only older amd. The new ryzen CPUs would be my preference over Intel but they are out of your current budget.

You can go AMD Ryzen route also. But it will still require new DDR4 ram.
HighEnd Ryzen chips are out of reach for your budget.
Something like this would be an option:
AMD B350 board,
AMD Ryzen R5 1400,
16GB DDR4.

AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler (YD1400BBAEBOX) Is 159 bucks on amazon. Is that a crappy one? Sorry I'm relearning all this stuff since I haven't messed with my build in 4 years.

It's a solid CPU and a great stock cooler. You would need new motherboard and ram with it though. Ryzen 3 is also very close so if you wait a couple weeks that should be available.

Thanks guys! This has been very helpful. Looks like overall with a new CPU Mobo and ram I'm looking at about 300-350. And eventually I will need a new GPU. So probably looking at 500 when it's all said and done. I am still on the fence on whether to just go back to console which is guaranteed to work with games that get released for it. Used console 250 bucks. I would keep my pc for playing games like total war that don't work on console. I really enjoy the pc and working on it but it seems like bottomless money pit. By the time I upgrade my parts will be out of date already.

It's not that bad, but really depends on PC hardware you choose.
For example - if you had gone with Intel i5 instead of AMD FX cpu, you probably wouldn't need to upgrade cpu at this time.
