Need help wiping sdd+hdd

So i have built a new pc and in my old one i have a 120gb sdd and a 500gb hdd and i want to have them fully wiped so i can use them in my new one for storage but i have no idea how to clear them, i only know how to format them when you are installing windows again and i dont think that is the correct way

In windows storage management, you can delete all partitions and then format them.

what happens to my old computer once i have done them both does it just shut off once i have wiped my ssd of windows, i am assuming i wold be doing them on my old comp or should i pop them in my new one and do it there. thanks for the reply, sorry if i am not the smartest when it comes to this thing hope you dont mind answering my questions thanks

No, just connect the old drives to your new pc and wipe them there.
Make certain your boot order goes first to the desired drive.
And... make certain that you target the proper drives!!

thanks alot, i will connect the old drives after i install windows on my new sdd and wipe them then if this is the correct way

Correct. A caveat, do not have any other drives connected when you do the os install on the ssd.
Otherwise windows will put a recovery partition on one of them that will be the dickens to get rid of.
Connect the drives after.

Thanks again, it is early hours where i am and i will be putting my new computer together as soon as it hits light, one last thing though, after i install windows on my new sdd when i connect my old drives will they just show up in disk managment and do i simply right click and format? they both only have 1 partition or one big one so i just need to format and i am all good they will be clear and fresh?
