Hi all

In short I bought 2133mhz ram and I couldn't run the xmp profile and returned the ram. Instead of that ram I bought 2400mhz ram and xmp profile wont work on this ram either. Both sets of ram could run at 2000mhz. I made a thread about the 2133mhz with no help.

Both ram sets had the same settings in my bios excluding timings, So I think there is something I need to change I would be truly grateful for any help. I'm gonna post pictures of all the settings in the bios related to the ram. Yes my cpu and motherboard support these speeds.

Unless you get a cpu and run it at 4.5Ghz or more the performance difference will not be that much. Also RAM speed only helps in certain applications and even then not as much as most people would think. I would just keep your current cpu and just upgrade the gpu, but it is your system and your money so if you want the fun of having a new system to play with I totally understand.

I tried what you both suggested still cant use above 2000mhz ram with this CPU. I'm tired of the restrictions my lga1155 CPU and motherboard have caused me its time to upgrade, I will ask your opinions going forward, one more thing however.... Whats that website you can use to see if PC parts will go together?

I cant help but feel with my current setup adding the 2000mhz ram instead of 1600mhz ram. That my current build is fine and adding $1000 in new parts is overkill? My motherboard and CPU are about 4 years old now I think so I'm probably not far from a system failure anyhow.

Tested it all on PC parts picker seems to fit only i had to choose a similar case couldn't find mine.

Thanks for all the help.
