You could go with a smaller case, I'm not sure if you want to use a lot of internal drives for your data or keep using externals, so I threw in a big case.

since you are going to be doing some minor gaming, I wouldnt recommend spending much on the video card...if your resolution is 1280x1024, you could get away with an HD4670, which is a decent midrange card that doesnt use much power.
Since you are going to be doing some video editing, you should probably invest in a quad core...along with at least 4gb of quality ram

Are your storage drives 1tb drives or what? How many hard drive slots will you need in your case? Also do you plan on having multiple optical drives as well or just one?

Ahslan is right, you don't need very powerful of a video card, but the 4670 is only $20-$30 cheaper than the 4850. Should you choose to play some more graphically-intensive games in the future, the 4850 will handle them admirably at 1280x1024.

According to Guru3D's tests, the 4850 will nearly double the 4670's framerates in almost every game at 1280x1024. ~90% increase in performance for a ~30% increase in price sounds like a good deal to me, especially when the price is already so low to begin with.

Your choice, though.

Uhm, nvidia makes the 9800gtx, not intel. As far as chips, I'm a certified computer tech and have my bachelor's, and I've always been buying AMD chips, always had great luck with them myself. But I don't know about the op, but I have to work hard for what money I've got, and can't justify spending more on intel chips.
